The licensing of Stranger Things in the video game world in recent years has had quite a lot of discussion from especially Dead by Daylight players, because after the collaboration, it was removed from the game, and to this day the real reasons are still not known, something however last year began to move, because it was leaked the return of Stranger Things on Dead by Daylight both with the old characters but also with new survivors and killers:
To date, however, there is still nothing official, although in a recent interview with Edge, Netflix vice president Leanne Loombe pointed out that the company knows it has not yet tapped the full potential of the intellectual property, after two interesting but relatively small games like Stranger Things 1984 and Stranger Things 3: The Game.
These were her words:
"As we build up the muscles to launch more games, and we learn more things, then we are naturally going to move into higher scope, more complex, AAA-type experiences, across both internal and external [studios]," the Netflix executive told Edge. "We have IPs that we thing could work well in games, but then it's about really figuring out 'ok, what kind of game is that - how would that feel and play? You know, the Stranger Things games that we've got, for example, they're great games, but I don't think we've done the Stranger Things game yet - the one that is authentically connected to that universe and those characters that the fans love."
These last few sentences certainly seem to indicate that Netflix wants to invest a big budget to create a AAA game of Stranger Things, and who knows if this will not also correspond to the actual return of the license on Dead by Daylight.
