During a recent TheKing interview with the developers of Dead by Daylight, an intriguing comment has reignited long-standing rumors about a potential Jurassic World collaboration. When asked about dream licenses they’d love to see in the game, one developer boldly declared:
“My wildest dream is to get Jurassic World into DBD. Can we get a Velociraptor killer, that is my wildest dream.”
While the statement was hypothetical, it has sent the Dead by Daylight community into a frenzy of speculation—especially since rumors surrounding a Jurassic World chapter have been circulating for months.
What the Leaks Say: A Dino-Fueled Chapter?
Recent leaks have suggested that the Jurassic World chapter will include the Indoraptor as the killer, alongside legendary characters Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm as survivors. The setting? None other than the Visitor Centre, one of the most iconic locations from the franchise.
The leaked abilities for the Indoraptor sound like a terrifying blend of stealth and agility. Its camouflage power allows it to remain partially unseen, offering players a predator-like edge in ambush situations. Notably, unlike the Wraith, this stealth doesn’t make it fully invisible, but offers just enough concealment to surprise survivors.
The Indoraptor is also rumored to feature two unique modes:
Four-Legged Stance: A third-person perspective that increases speed and vaulting ability, but limits attacks to quick bites.
Standing Pose: Grants a scent-tracking ability and a short lunge attack similar to Wesker’s, injuring survivors and putting them in a mending state.
Past Clues and Industry Connections
These rumors gained more credibility following the release of The Houndmaster, a chapter that introduced a canine-based killer. Thematically, replacing the dog with a dinosaur in a future chapter feels like a natural evolution—pun intended.
What strengthens the theory even more is Behaviour Interactive’s past collaboration with Universal, the studio behind Jurassic World. The two companies previously partnered on Jurassic World Primal Ops, a mobile game that featured dinosaur rescue missions. At the time, both companies praised their working relationship:
“Jurassic World Primal Ops lets players immerse themselves in the Jurassic World franchise… The game is reflective of the brand’s signature storytelling, intense action, compelling environments and diverse characters,” said Jim Molinets, SVP of Universal Games.
Given their history and the fact that a new Jurassic World movie is set to release later this year, the timing couldn’t be better for a potential crossover.
Strong Ties With Other Franchises Confirmed
In the same interview, Behaviour also addressed several other rumors previously reported. Developers confirmed that companies like Lionsgate (Saw), Capcom (Resident Evil), and Konami (Silent Hill) maintain strong relationships with the studio. In some cases, these companies have even suggested content themselves.
For example, Capcom proposed the Nemesis power, which was originally designed to resemble Wesker’s (before Wesker had even joined the game). Meanwhile, Konami has approved an upcoming original skin for Pyramid Head, indicating a willingness to expand beyond strictly canon content.
Not All IPs Are Flexible
However, not all licensors are as open to creative liberties. Behaviour confirmed that franchises like Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street strictly prohibit any non-canon skins. This explains the limited cosmetic options for characters like Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger, as only original movie material can be used in those cases.
Final Thoughts
Between the developer’s bold Jurassic World comment, the detailed leaks, and Behaviour’s proven working history with Universal, a dinosaur-themed chapter in Dead by Daylight seems more likely than ever. With a new film on the horizon and Behaviour’s willingness to push the boundaries of horror, fans may not have to wait much longer before the Indoraptor hunts them down in the fog.
Stay tuned—2025 could be the year dinosaurs enter Dead by Daylight.
