About 2 years ago, a Jason Voorhees Prequel TV series called Crystal Lake was announced and was to be joined by Bryan Fuller who worked on Hannibal, and Victor Miller, the screenwriter of the original Friday the 13th movie.

For several months now, the TV series prequel based on Friday the 13th has been officially announced called Crystal Lake which will also have many demonstrations of Jason Voorhees, distributed on Peacock and whose work is Bryan Fuller, who, among other things, worked on the Hannibal TV series:
The TV series will be called Crystal Lake, and will not be present the iconic killer with the hockey mask because of the legal battle that as mentioned above, you can deepen in the articles linked above.

And now new information about the project, in fact, the writing of the series will begin in about two weeks, and will also involve Kevin Williamson, who for those who do not know who he was, is the one who created the script for the first film of Scream 1996, which launched a saga that later became an icon of horror cinema Slasher.
But the news did not end here, in fact Adrienne King, the one who played Alice Hardy in two films of Friday the 13th, will have a role within the series:

As for the seasons, Fuller has pitched four seasons of Crystal Lake TV series, but so far only one has been ordered by Peacock, although he notes that in case Peacock does not order at least the second season, he will have to pay a penalty:

And probably there will also be Pamela Voorhees within the TV series, in fact Fuller to a specific question answered:

In fact, regarding the content within the TV series, he said that they will use 'everything', that there will be various family manifestations of Jason Voorhees and that he was pleased with the reactions of fans to the announcement of this new TV series, and as for the 'opponents' of the project, he said that even when they announced the prequel TV series of Hannibal there were the same comments, so he simply asks to wait for the final product.
''Everything. We can use everything. We can go to Hell, we can go to space. That's not to say that we will do those things ... although if we do go 10 seasons, I will be lobbying hard to go to space. They are tied up at New Line and are super, super messy and probably won't be untangled anytime soon, but as far as us chickens in the television industry, uh, roost, we have access to anything and everything that Friday the 13th has done up until this point.''

In recent times, the intellectual property of the franchise has passed from Paramount to New Line, but at the same time it was at the center of a heated legal dispute that involved the director and producer of the first 'Friday the 13th' movie (ie Sean S. Cunningham) and the screenwriter of that film (Victor Miller).
In May of last year, the court agreed with Miller, stating that he owns the exploitation rights to the screenplay of 'Friday the 13th' and its characters. However, it does not have the title, the concept of Jason adult nor the hockey mask (introduced only in the third feature of the saga). These three intellectual properties are in the hands of producer Rob Barsamian. Important detail because the latter and Victor Miller, also with Marc Toberoff (Miller’s lawyer) and A24 Studio are the executive producers of the TV series 'Crystal Lake', which is born, potentially, with the ability to field all the main elements of the franchise.

The sad news has come that this TV series has probably also been cancelled, Jeff Sneider reported the news on theinsneider.com website:
''I’m hearing that A24 has pulled the plug on Crystal Lake, its planned Peacock series based on the Friday the 13th franchise featuring masked killer Jason Voorhees. Bryan Fuller was due to executive produce the horror series. It’s unclear whether this is a permanent decision or a temporary one, as A24 had no comment. Perhaps Peacock will help the trades shed more light on this project, which was announced back in 2022.''
At the moment there are no official statements from A24 or Peacock which was supposed to distribute the TV series, if there are any updates I will of course keep you updated through these pages.
