For a few years now within the Dead by Daylight fan community, people have been thinking about a possible sequel to Behaviour Interactive's horror game, probably to try and change the gameplay mechanics a bit and freshen up the structure of the game, however, finally comes an official answer on the matter, specifically from Game Director and Head Of Partnerships, Mathieu Côté.
In fact interviewed by mp1st.com, he said that at the moment there are no reasons to work on a sequel to the game, and that in fact there are still many stories to tell, this is the answer:
MP1st: Given we’re still seeing massive support for the game, has Behaviour ever considered making Dead by Daylight 2? Or is it not necessary given the game’s live-service nature?
Côté: We want to focus on our core game and continue to expand. Dead by Daylight is not going anywhere, there’s still so many stories to tell and so there’s no reason for us to start a new one.

Obviously Behaviour Interactive doesn't like a sequel to Dead by Daylight given its live service nature, for those who don't know in fact live services are projects developed so as to be constantly updated and supported over the years, an example is Fortnite, or Sea of Thieves.
In the case of Dead by Daylight then it is even more complex considering that an eventual sequel to the game would not have at launch all the licenses that there are currently on the first chapter, it would then have to be re-released from time to time all the various iconic killers such as Myers, Krueger and all the others, starting from scratch the work on many killers that by now fans already know.
There is important news, however, because the arrival of new modes within the game has been confirmed, just what the community has always wanted, namely a change in the gameplay that has now been the same since 2016.

Q: Regarding the games rather repetitive (but still fun) gameplay, can you say anything about if there will possibly be limited time game modes, or permanent game modes that differ in ways from the main game mode in the future?
