One of the most desired collaborations from the community of Dead by Daylight is definitely the one with Five Nights at Freddy’s, and everything has also been accentuated in recent years due to probable some clues left by Behaviour Interactive on the game’s socials:
For the uninitiated, Five Nights at Freddy’s is a video game (which has since been followed by others) released in 2014 that immediately had a huge success.
The video game Five Nights at Freddy’s takes place inside the restaurant Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza after closing time. Here, when all customers have left the premises, animatronic creatures come to life. It is not known how the movie will be set but in the video game, the player is the guardian of the restaurant that is not engaged in a fight against the creatures but that, from his office, is called to monitor the surveillance monitors and low resolution devices in his possession to track the movements of animatronic creatures. The night watchman has to stay in place for 5 nights to win the game and get fired.
This plot will then be the basis on which the screenplay of the new upcoming film produced by Blumhouse and Striker Entertainment will be written and directed by Emma Tammy. The shoot should start in February, writing will be entrusted to Emma Tammy together with the creators of the famous video game: Scott Cawthon (who will also be producer) and Seth Cuddeback.
To date, the actors who will be part of the production are Matthew Lillard and Josh Hutcherson but it is not yet known what they will play in the movie:
- Lillard is best known for his role as Shaggy in countless Scooby-Doo productions, including the live-action film in which he reprised the role. He is also known for his role in Scream and voiced Shaggy in MultiVersus while also making guest appearances on the Dungeons & Dragons show Critical Role.
- Hutcherson will be more recognizable by his role as Peeta in The Hunger Games and the sequels to that film.
Just the production of a movie on FNaF could open the door to a collaboration with Dead by Daylight, as previously happened with Leatherface (which was released in conjunction with the 2017 movie) or with the TV series of Stranger Things:
As mentioned above, FNaF is a very popular license for fans of the game and Behaviour Interactive has many times fulfilled the requests of fans with crossovers, such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, which were just as popular with fans after they make a survey about which license they wanted most in the game (and FNaF was part of the poll), so as well as the possibility that Pennywise arrives thanks to the upcoming TV series, the same could happen with Five Nights at Freddy’s:
